Gregoire Berger is Dubai’s most lauded Chef, a Michelin Starred Chef, Founder & Culinary Director at Kraken, Dubai.

Born in Versailles, France, & raised in the Morbihan region of Brittany, Chef Grégoire Berger grew up between the sea & the markets of coastal France, where he absorbed a respect for time, craft, & nature from his mother & grandmother. That early connection to the ocean & its rhythm continues to define his cuisine, rooted in French technique, guided by emotion, & driven by purpose.

After graduating from the CFA in Vannes, he trained in some of France’s most respected kitchens, including Le Pressoir, Le Domaine de Rochevilaine, & La Grande Cascade under Frédéric Robert. These formative experiences built the discipline & precision that underpin his creative work today.

In 2014, Chef Gregoire joined Atlantis the Palm as Executive Chef of OSSIANO at Atlantis, The Palm, transforming it into one of the Middle East’s most acclaimed fine-dining restaurants.

Chef Berger's exceptional talent is reflected in a formidable array of international accolades. His recent achievements include retaining a Michelin star for a three consecutive years, being named Gault & Millau Chef of The Year (2022), & multiple high placements on prestigious international lists. In 2024 alone, he was rated #3 in the MENA 50 BEST Restaurants, #39 on The Best Chef Awards Worldwide, & achieved an entry at #8 in “LA LISTE” Worldwide. His consistent recognition across multiple years confirms his standing as one of the world's elite culinary artists, currently ranked as the #87 chef globally since 2023.

In 2025, Chef Gregoire launched KRAKEN, Dubai, his first independent restaurant. Conceived as a personal manifesto under the philosophy “Where Smoke Remembers the Sea,” KRAKEN explores the intersection of locavore, fire, fermentation, & the marine world; a mature, elemental reflection of his evolution as a chef & storyteller.

Beyond the kitchen, Chef Gregoire  owns Monarch Events, designing exceptional gastronomic experiences for luxury maisons such as Dior, Van Kleef & Arpels, Louis Vuitton, & Piaget, uniting culinary artistry with craftsmanship & emotion.
